Clay camps at Thrown Elements Pottery are fun, energetic, artistic and experiential outlets for children ages 5-16. Each session focuses on different age-appropriate projects and teaches new skills based on the weekly theme. Sign up for as many sessions as you’d like—there’s always something new and exciting!

kids camps

For students ages 5-13
We offer morning Clay Camp and afternoon Glazing Camps, or bring a sack lunch and stay for both! 10 am-noon, m-th camps feature wet clay techniques, $125 • 12:30pm-2pm, m-th camps feature painting projects, $125 10am-2pm, m-th wet clay and glazing camps, $225 (save $25)
Discounts offered for multiple weeks and sibling registrations; 5% for 2-4 sessions or 10% for 5 or more sessions

Hand-building and Glazing Summer Camps
Wet clay, glazing and wheel-throwing camps for beginners and advanced kids and teens. Morning and afternoon sessions.

Create projects based on your favorite stories and illustrations. Hand-built and slab clay; transferring and stenciling techniques.

Clay beads, pendants and mixed media projects with plastic and glass.

Cupcake boxes, food banks, potato carving, printmaking and veggie stamps

Impression Expressions Fabric, burlap, lace, stamps and string to enhance your clay and bisque creations with texture

Teen Camps

For students ages 10-16
We know you’re busy, so you choose the two days— m, t, w or th—that work best for you from 3-5pm. We can accommodate missed sessions and vacation schedules with make-up classes and pro-rated pricing.
We offer three different 4-week sessions,

Week 1— Pinch pots, slabs and coils
Basic form and hand building techniques, handles, additions and sgraffito

Week 2—Centering and cylinders
Basic wheel throwing, hallow forms and slip trailing

Week 3—Altering the cylinder
Altering shapes and mastering lid makings

Week 4—Glazing
Dipping, layering of color, wax resist and sgraffito
